Cynthia Stein Breneisen, 49 of 50 Griffith Road, Muncy, died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Philadelphia, as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident that occurred on Route 54 near Muncy Machine & Tool Co., Inc. where she was currently employed.
Born October 28, 1955, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Vincent R. and Carol (Rook) Stein.
She and her husband of 28 years, M. Edward Breneisen, were married July 24, 1976.
Cindy was a 1974 graduate of Muncy High School. For many years she was part of her family’s business, Stein’s Sales and Service, located at Main and New Streets in Muncy. Following the death of her grandfather, Harry Stein, and the subsequent retirement of her father, Cindy and her husband took over the business and became the proprietors of Steins Oil from 1987 until 2003. She also ran a notary service, and recently worked as a finance manager at Muncy Machine & Tool.
A person of her word, she was uncommonly clear in her manner of speaking. As a businesswoman, she was respected for her sound judgment and forthright manner.
Cindy play many vital roles within her extended family. She was relied upon for specific care giving on several fronts. Always a steady guide during times of family crisis, she was known for her calmness and determination in solving problems. She was utterly dependable in interpersonal relationships with friends and family alike. An animal lover, she was devoted to her own animals and also helped others with their pets.
A member of the knitting underground organization and the Vocational Education Advisory Committee at State Correctional Institute, Muncy, she also enjoyed fishing.
She was a member of Muncy Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Vincent and Carol Stein of Muncy, and her husband, Ed, Cindy is survived by a daughter, Tara L. Breneisen of Muncy; two brothers, Stephen Stein of Muncy and Harry (Linda) Stein of Ocean City, NJ; and two sisters, Judy Fitzpatrick of Seaville, NJ, and Brenda Booth of Sonestown.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Scott M. Warren. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 215 N. River St. Suite 450, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.
